Level 1: We recommend a "small" for those who have a normal to heavy flow but have not given birth vaginally. If you have given birth vaginally, we recommend you size up to the large.
Level 2: We recommend a "large" for those who have given birth vaginally or been diagnosed with a condition called Menorrhagia.
Switching to a menstrual cup is a big step. That's why we've created the RECup cup quiz here
You can clean the RECup with mild soap and warm water during your period. We recommend unscented or pH balanced soap. We do not recommend using anti-bacterial soap. While this is great for washing your hands, it can strip your vagina of its healthy bacteria and natural flora and cause a yeast infection. Before use and between cycles, you can sanitize your cup by placing it in boiling water for 5 minutes. Do not use vinegar, tea tree oil, scented soap, castile or peppermint soap, oil based soap, rubbing alcohol, anti bacterial soap, hand sanitizer, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide or harsh chemicals to clean your cup as this can damage the silicone and cause irritation and discomfort.
Do not use the RECup during a yeast infection, bacterial infection, pre- natal or postpartum bleeding. The RECup is not a contraceptive device and will not protect you from STDs. Do not use during intercourse. Do not use the June Cup immediately following child birth, gynecological surgery, miscarriage or termination of pregnancy unless you have physician approval.
